UAB "FishNet" – About Us

A modern freshwater aquaculture farm located in the Trakai district, in the village of Mavavis.

UAB "FishNet" was established in 2015 and is a modern freshwater aquaculture farm located in the Trakai district, in the village of Mavavis.

The company specialises in farming rainbow trout in a closed recirculating system consisting of three separate growing modules. This technology allows for complete control of water quality, temperature, and growing conditions regardless of the season or weather – delivering the highest quality fish year-round.

From egg to market fish – that is precisely how the FishNet farming process is described. We control every stage: from egg incubation and juvenile rearing to market-size fish ranging from 300 g to 1.5 kg. This comprehensive process management ensures product safety, quality, and traceability.

Growth and Capacity

Steady Growth

  • 2018The first growing module was completed, with an annual production capacity of 200 tonnes of market fish.
  • 2020The fish processing company "Fish Processing Net" began operations, making it possible to offer not only fresh but also processed fish products.
  • 2021Two additional modules were stocked, bringing the total annual production capacity to 600 tonnes of market fish.

Today, UAB "FishNet" is one of the largest trout farming companies in the Baltic states, and continuously growing production capacity alongside technological investment ensures the company's further expansion in the region.

Caring for the Environment

A Responsible Closed System

A responsible approach to the environment is an inseparable part of FishNet's operations. The closed recirculating system allows water to be reused throughout the farming process – significantly reducing water consumption and preventing pollutants from entering surrounding water bodies or the soil.

Unlike traditional fish farms, the recirculating system operates as a closed ecosystem in which production waste is processed rather than released into the environment.

In addition, a 600 kW solar power plant has been installed on the company's premises, which fully meets the company's electricity needs during the sunny season. This contributes to a more sustainable future and reduces our carbon footprint.
